Heres a favorite card of mine

This card I have been making for a couple of years now with this set. I really like it, its simple but elegant. If you like it contact me, mrobieinvt@netzero.net or 433-1328. This set is now retired but I have one set used for sale. I need to get some new sets so will be selling some of the old.

A fun card made with a set sent to me for free!

This set is going to be a hostess set in the new catalog coming out in January. Stampin up sent it to all their active consultants as a thank you. It is called time well spent. It has a quote in it saying "time spent with friends is time well spent" I can not wait to use it for my scrapbook page of my retreat this past november, its perfect for that.
I got this idea from splitcoast. Using my ever favorite glossy paper and the crayon resist technique with sponging. :0) Cardstock used is tempting turquoise and green galore the same ink color for the sponging also. It is springy kind of card. I like that even though winter is just beginning I can stamp a spring card if I feel like it.

oh here is one more of the 2 more of the ornaments I made to:

Some Christmas Projects I have been working on

These are slide ornaments, they are pretty easy to make and a lot of fun. Never throw anything away without saying can I use it for a stamping project. I made 5 of the snowman ornaments in an hour and 1/2, start to finish. I didn't think that was too bad.
The snowman and the tree are from my brand new set. I bought it special for these ornaments because the set was cute and everything in it was nice and narrow. Its called Wishing you Cheer, its in the Fall Winter Stampin Up catalog on page 33 for $13.95. There is a nice saying in the set too that I put on the back of the ornaments.

Also I have made these cute little magnet calendars for your fridge. I need to make them more all occasion paper as the same background will be seen for the whole year. So I have to work on that but aren't these cute.

I actually took one of these from my wall hanging decorations that I made above. I am thinking of having a last minute gift making session at my house in case anyone wants to make some of these projects. Please feel free to leave comments. or email me: mrobieinvt@netzero.net

This was my set up for the big retreat. Unfortunately I didn't get to use my cricut machine at all Like I had hoped for but We had a lot of fun. I was sitting in front of this set up with all of the croppers facing each other in a big circle. This is a great space but we are on the hunt for a new location. Too many restrictions in a library. Maybe we will find a hotel that has affordable rates. I am ready to go to a retreat where I am not the hostess also. I never seem to get anything done when I am in charge. We sure did have fun though, there were door prizes, a 100% raffle, great food, fun and laughter through most of the weekend. :) I even got to do a few demos, people were curious about some of the cards I had made. They wanted to see how to put glitter on a page and I showed Pat how to make an ornament with a piece of paper and 2 microscope slides.

A Special for a Special Friend and Her Special Boy!

Some of you have seen or heard about a scrapbooking video?? Well I found out about it through my upline Erika, she put it on her blog and really helped promote it. Now they want to help her promote a cause special to her. Her son Zach has autism and she has helped design a stamp set for a charity and all kinds of things like that. Well now there is this:

Starting NOW through January 1st, 2008, MockUTV is donating $1 from each copy of this awesome DVD sold towards a charity that is near and dear to my heart: Autism Support Daily

Did you know that one in every 150 children are diagnosed with some form of autism? That's ONE TOO MANY! And did you know that's only the number of children that are actually diagnosed? And did you know that many of these children "fall the through the cracks"? There ARE things that can be done about this and YOU can help!

And get this......you even get FREE shipping on the DVD! Talk about a win-win for everyone! This is the perfect gift for any papercrafter and scrapbooker on your Holiday wish list or even as a treat for yourself....and the best thing is, you're supporting a VERY worthwhile cause!

You can check out a bunch of great links on the MockUTV site:

The other card using the Weathered background stamp

This is one of my favorite cards of all time. I was pretty proud of myself because I came up with this idea all on my own. I used versa mark pad on the weathered background stamp then stamped it on glossy stampin up cardstock, then went over that with the blue frost spectrum pad applying with a rubber brayer. See how the ink resists on the versamarked design.

Then I stamped the image in
black stazon ink. I used a window sheet to stamp the lower image on and flipped it over and rubbed it onto the bottom part of the card. then layered in black and white cardstock.

The stamp set I used for the image is called Summer by the sea.

This is a card I made for my workshop last Monday. It uses vanilla card stock and mellow moss. The background on the card uses the weathered background stamp set with creamy caramel ink. The leaves are embossed in gold glory embossing powder, then i stamped the Thank You on creamy caramel card stock with the same ink color and punched it out using the large word window punch. The set used is called Stem Silhouettes from the mini winter catalog. A link to the catalog is in a few posts back. If you scroll down you will see it. Then next card I show you will be using this same weathered stamp but will look completely different. The two eyelets at the top of the card I put in after as people at the demonstration wanted to see how to do eyelets. I need to get the gold cord now to tie a bow in the two holes, I think that will complete the card nicely.

Look at all you can make with a Simply Scrappin Kit

No stampin involved just inventive ideas from my upline. I want to teach a class on this and use the Secret Garden Kit. Its really nice, it has a lot of greens and floral stuff. Totally girly which I really like to use when I can seeing how I have a husband and two boys. Don't get to do too many girly scrapbook pages or cards. Erika, my stampin mom, upline inspiration, said in her blog that this kit is her FAVORITE EVER Simply Scrappin' kit and I am tending to agree.

The little pink triangle has hershey kisses in it, well it did untill I decided I needed chocolate. All of the projects above were made with the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin' Kit.

Here is the Card I came up with for the new Snow bursts set

The snowflakes were smaller than I thought they would be but that was ok, that just meant I could stamp more of them on my card front. I used night of navy for the base and thought people could print up a nice personal christmas greeting on their computer and attach it to the inside you can get 4 on a page and it will fit perfect. Then I used bashful blue for the card front with ballet blue ink for stamping the snowflakes. Then for the accessories, jazz it up a little with white gross grain ribbon, I thought it would be fun to stamp on it and see what that looked like. You can't really see the ballet blue on it but it looks cute in person. Then of course you can't do a snowflake card without dazzling diamond glitter. I used my 2-Way Glue Pen to go over certain parts of the snowflakes that I thought should sparkle and then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter over them. Remember to tap off the extra and put it back in your glitter containter. Ooh Lala, I love glitter. Then I used my night of navy ink pad to match the base cardstock for the greeting. Adhere it all together and this is what I got.

OK, here it is the page I promised. So I still didn't journal it yet, but the nitty gritty is last year I had two retreats in a row. This year we are just doing the one at the 2cnd page location. The Library in Northfield, VT. It has great chairs, lighting, tables and a full kitchen that we can use. The first page was at the comfort in and we out grew that spot. We did however rent the VIP room and enjoyed the hot tub. Pretty funny shot of me in my lilac celtics hat. The dates that we were there were November 10th and 11th 2006 and November 17th and 18th. We sure did have a great time, but I would never recommend doing events back to back like that. Thank you everyone who gave me permission to post your picture, Looking forward to this year its almost a month away now!

a technique I would like to do a class on

This is a fun thing to do with pearl ex. Its a little messy but fun. I have all the pearl ex packs that were retired out of the stampin up catalog this past July. I really need to get using them so I can justify buying them. You need elmers glue, pearl ex and a heat gun. The copper paper goes real nice with this too. I am going to try this technique with some blues and snowflakes for a Christmas card. I hope to post that in a few days. Also I am working on a scrapbook page of my retreat last year. Its almost done. Have journaling and title to do then it will done. Got most everyones permission to post it here. So keep checking back. Feel free to leave comments. :)
